Joshua Whitehead is a Two-Spirit, Oji—nêhiyaw member of Peguis First Nation. His poetry collection full-metalindigiqueer was shortlisted for the Indigenous Voices Award and Stephan G. Stephansson Award. His novel Jonny Appleseed was long listed for the Giller Prize, the Governor General's Literary Award, the Carol Shields Winnipeg Book Award, and won the Lambda Literary Award and the Georges Bugnet Award for Fiction. His latest is a book of essays Making Love with the Land.
