Born on Manhattan Island (NYC), Jessica Howland Kany lived on Rakiura Stewart Island for twenty years. Jessica is a graduate of Washington University in Missouri, was the editor of the Stewart Island News since 2005, and her writing has featured in Running Times, North & South, New Zealand Geographic and more. A Runner’s Guide to Rakiura is Jessica’s first novel.
