Peter Gordon ONZM is of Māori and Scottish descent (Ngāti Kahungunu, Ngāi Tahu and Clan Gordon), was born in Whanganui and lives in Auckland/Tāmaki Makaurau. Until 2020 he was an unofficial Ambassador for NZ food and wine in London, where he was based for 31 years. He has owned and consulted on restaurants in London, Auckland, Istanbul, New York and Dubai and is also a co-founder of London-based artisan doughnut company, Crosstown. Peter returned to Aotearoa in March 2020 and set up Homeland - a restaurant, retail space and cooking school created to promote New Zealand and Pacific producers - with his partner Al. He has written eight cookbooks and is a judge on The Great Kiwi Bake Off.
