Emeli Sione’s A New Dawn tells the story of her own childhood dawn raid experience in the 1970’s, a story that she wrote to ensure that resources were available to children to learn about the dawn raids. It covers the history of the dawn raids, information on the Polynesian Panther Party and the New Zealand Government’s apology to the Pacific communities in 2021.
