Victor Rodger ONZM is a writer and producer whose plays Black Faggot and My Name is Gary Cooper have been performed nationally and internationally. His other works include Sons, Club Paradiso and Uma Lava. In 2015 he founded FCC (Flow, Create, Connect) with the express purpose of putting Pasifika stories and practitioners front and centre. Since then he has produced critically acclaimed productions of Tusiata Avia's Wild Dogs Under My Skirt and The Savage Coloniser Show, both throughout Aotearoa and overseas. His 2012 play At the Wake will this year be remounted by The Court Theatre in Christchurch. In 2021 he was made an Officer of the Order of New Zealand Merit for playwrighting and services to Pacific theatre. In 2024 he became an Arts Laureate.
