Michael Steven’s poems, essays and short fiction have appeared in Brief, IKA, Landfall, and Poetry New Zealand Yearbook. The recipient of the 2018 Todd New Writer Bursary and a 2019 Ockham NZ Book Award longlisting for Walking to Jutland Street, he is the author of new collection The Lifers.
