Indira Stewart is a Pasifika Journalist and TV Presenter at TVNZ. Born in Tonga and with Fijian heritage, she was raised in Auckland with her four siblings. She had her first stint as a reporter at the age of 15 with TVNZ’s Tagata Pasifika Current Affairs programme and has since worked in newsrooms in New Zealand, Australia and across the Pacific region as a reporter and presenter. Alongside reading the Friday Midday News on TVNZ 1 she is currently an In-Depth Multimedia Journalist across 1News' digital platforms and on-air for Q+A. She holds a strong belief in lifting up marginalised voices on mainstream platforms and is passionate about justice and holding people to account. Outside of Journalism, she is an enthusiastic mother of four children and a part-time law student.
