Binge Culture is a contemporary performance company from Wellington. Binge Culture experiments with performance and ways to give the audience real stakes in each performance, rooted in physical space and the unedited moment, and make them agents within an experience. Formed in 2008, Binge Culture has been nationally recognised as leading innovators of New Zealand performance. They have created dozens of works that subvert theatrical conventions, through post-dramatic, durational and site-specific performance, and the innovative use of audio and digital platforms.
From unauthorised audio tours of Te Papa to fictionalised whale strandings, to five-hour improvised break ups, their work is united by humour, immediacy, and the risk and reward that comes with experimentation. This adventure was created using PickPath - a new platform for compelling interactive storytelling experiences originally developed by Binge Culture.
