Eileen Merriman has published several books for adults and young adults, including the Black Spiral Trilogy. Several of her young adult novels have been finalists in the NZ Book Awards for Children and Young Adults and Storylines Notable Books. Moonlight Sonata, her first novel for adults, was longlisted for the 2020 Acorn Fiction Prize in the Ockham Book Awards. Eileen has also won awards for short stories and was a finalist in the 2021 Ngaio Marsh Award for Younger Readers for A Trio of Sophies.
