Sian Elias retired as NZ’s Chief Justice in 2019, after 24 years sitting in the High Court, Court of Appeal, Judicial Committee of the Privy Council and Supreme Court. She has written for legal periodicals and essay collections, and delivered the 2017 Hamlyn Lectures published as Fairness in Criminal Justice.
