One of the Olympic gold medal-winning 1976 men’s hockey team, whose achievements are celebrated in the new book Striking Gold (2016) by journalist Suzanne McFadden, Ramesh Patel was the first NZ Indian to play hockey for New Zealand and the youngest player in the team. He subsequently became CEO of New Zealand Hockey.
