2017 saw the bookstore debut of New Zealand YA Sci-Fi sensation J L Pawley (Jessica) who signed off international screen, as well as Chinese and Russian, rights for her novel Air Born, the first in a planned series titled Generation Icarus. Already an online hit with over 1.5 million reads on Wattpad, Jessica’s rise is matched by that of her book’s diverse teen heroes, who grow wings and band together as ‘the Flight’ to battle for their survival. Jessica brings the story behind Generation Icarus to the stage for a local audience.
