Four high school friends share confronting truths through a special letter writing project in Dahlia and Mani Malaeulu’s award-winning Tama Sāmoa. As with the companion volume by Dahlia, Teine Sāmoa, the journey of four female Pasifika students, the fictional elements are supported by vivid real-life accounts. Praised for their insights into the challenges surrounding cultural stereotypes and expectations, Dahlia who is also the publisher behind Mila’s Books has recently released A New Dawn, Emeli Sione’s account of the dawn raids and Pasifika Navigators - Pasifika Student Poetry Collection, and Mani created the Tama Pasifika Wellbeing Journal. Together they will inspire students to understand the power of talanoa and owning stories.
