Auckland Writers Festival is pleased to announce a special ‘In Conversation’ event with internationally acclaimed writer Geraldine Brooks, in association with Hachette NZ, on 17 November at Maidment Theatre.
Australian-born Geraldine Brooks was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in fiction in 2006 for her novel March. Her other novels, Caleb’s Crossing and People of the Book, were New York Times best sellers, and her first novel, Year of Wonders remains an international bestseller, translated into more than 25 languages and currently optioned for a major motion picture. She is also the author of the nonfiction works Nine Parts of Desire, Foreign Correspondence andThe Idea of Home and worked for the Wall Street Journal where she covered crises in the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans. Geraldine’s latest book The Secret Chord is a unique and vivid novel retelling the story of King David’s extraordinary rise to power and fall from grace.
A book signing will follow the event, and books will be available to purchase on the night thanks to Unity Auckland and The Women’s Bookshop.
