We are delighted to deliver the Schools Programme in May with the generous support of the Freemasons Foundation. Through this programme we hope to inspire young writers and readers and celebrate the love of story.
This year we are delighted to announce appearances by Leonie Agnew, Lawrence Arabia, Gavin Bishop, Sasha Borissenko, Stacy Gregg, Joanna Grochowicz, Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock, A.S. King, Selina Tusitala Marsh, J L Pawley, David Riley, Victor Rodger, Te Kahu Rolleston, Chris Riddell, James Russell, Anne Salmond, Alex Wheatle, Rewa Worley, and we also celebrate the poetry of Rowley Habib with a special theatre performance by Hāpai Productions.
In 2018 we continue the development of the programme through:
- Doubled capacity for Year 5-6 students
- Transport subsidy funds to assist with schools travel costs
- Three new schools added to the Writing the Future Project, supported by our new sponsor Vector, enabling these schools to attend at no cost. In addition, eight students from each sponsored school will embark on a creative writing mentoring programme. (NB. Involvement in this pilot is by invitation.)
All the information you need about the timetable, ticket prices, booking and how to apply for financial support towards transport is available in the programme, which you can download here.
