Arts practitioner Tama Waipara- (Ruapani / Rongowhakaata / Ngati Porou) has a Masters from New York’s Manhattan School of Music. He is the winner of a Vodafone Music Award for Best Roots Album for Fill Up The Silence, and an APRA Award for Best Original Music in a Feature Film for his Mahana score.

Kennedy Warne co-founded New Zealand Geographic and was its editor for 15 years. He has written about threatened mangrove forests, the Tuhoe iwi of Te Urewera and SH1, and produced two children’s books with illustrator Heather Hunt, the latest being It’s My Egg (And you can’t have it!).

Award-winning writer, lm writer and director Peter Wells is co-founder of the Auckland Writers Festival and the Samesame but Different LGBTQI Writers Festival. His memoir Dear Oliver has just been published, and he is currently documenting his experience with cancer in a Facebook diary.
JONATHAN WEST NEW ZEALAND
A former historian at the Waitangi Tribunal, Jonathan West has recently joined the Of ce of Treaty Settlements. He is shortlisted for the 2018 Ockham NZ Book Awards for his latest book The Face of Nature, an exploration of the environmental history of the Otago Peninsula.
