Cosmologist Janna Levin is a Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Barnard College of Columbia University. She is the author of science book How the Universe Got Its Spots (2002), prizewinning novel A Madman Dreams of Turing Machines (2006), and Black Hole Blues and Other Songs From Outer Space (2016) which tracks the successful search for gravitational waves.
