Damien Wilkins: Teaching Resource
Read the World: A Resource for Teachers accompanies the publication of Read the World: Volume Five a collection of works by four NZ writers: Damien Wilkins, Rose Lu, Gareth Ward and Karlo Mila.
Designed as a classroom teaching tool, the resource includes exercises for students to develop their close reading and creative writing skills with accompanying teaching notes, and videos of the writers reading from and discussing their work. Exercises are tailored to complement the English curriculum at Intermediate, Junior and Senior levels, Years 7-13.
Damien Wilkins is the Director of the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University of Wellington, and the author of short stories, poems and novels including The Miserables and Dad Art. He makes music under the band name The Close Readers. He published his debut YA novel Aspiring in 2020.
