Gertrude Stein and a Companion

Gertrude Stein and a Companion by Win Wells is a glimpse into the goings-on of the greats at 27 Rue de Fleurus, the Paris salon of Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas.

In a rehearsed reading of Win Wells’ acclaimed play, actors Andrea Kelland and Miranda Wilson bring to vivid life the milieu in which many of modernism’s most acclaimed works of art and literature were created.

This sharp-witted two-hander traverses the love story of Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas, their lives at the heart of the modernist art movement and the circumstances that produced Stein’s enduring literary triumph The Autobiography of Alice B. Toklas.

A Community Theatre production of "Gertrude Stein and a Companion" by special arrangement with Art at Work and The Play Bureau.
