The Ockham NZ Acorn Prize for Fiction 2024 Winner’s Interview: Emily Perkins on Lioness

Described by the judges as disturbing, smart, and funny as hell”, Emily PerkinsLioness was awarded New Zealand’s biggest fiction prize this week. She sits down for a special interview with the Fiction category’s convenor of judges Juliet Blyth to discuss her smart, multi-layered, laugh-out-loud novel exploring wealth, class and female mid-life reckoning.

This session was previously Natalie Haynes: Divine Might. Unfortunately, Natalie Haynes has had to cancel her visit to Auckland Writers Festival Waituhi o Tāmaki on medical grounds. We’re sending Natalie all our best wishes for a speedy recovery. All bookers will be contacted.
