The Auckland Writers & Readers Festival regrets to advise that, due to a family illness, Ben Goldacre is unable to travel to New Zealand in May.
The Festival has been unable to secure a revised format with Ben Goldacre. This session will instead feature Chief Science Advisor to the Prime Minister and Distinguished Professor Sir Peter Gluckman, who will discuss science communication, public-private health partnerships and other current issues with Sean Plunket. The 2013 Schools Programme enables intermediate and secondary school students to take part in sessions and workshops run by inspirational writers from around the world. The sessions, all 45 minutes long, take place in the Aotea Centre. Audience questions are encouraged and students can get books signed in the breaks. Attendance must be booked through schools, so make sure the school you are involved with is planning to take part in this event.
